Senior year timeline
Note: All dates and times are subject to charge. Make sure to monitor your emails and our social media account daily for the latest updates.
August – September
☐ Get familiar and monitor the Senior Activities calendar and school website (Senior parking spot, Grad Bash, Prom, etc.)
☐ Keep your grades strong – GPA and passing all classes is critical to be cleared for graduation.
☐ Attend the mandatory Senior/Parent College & Career Meeting in September.
☐ Finalize your college list and application deadlines in Common App & Naviance.
☐ Continue to work on your Common App (Essay sections reset August 1st)
☐ Take your Senior portraits with FoxMar- send selected pose to Yearbook with your baby picture
☐ Follow @CarrollCollegeCorner and @CarrollBulldogs on Instagram for the latest news.
☐ Request and pay for transcripts through “Quick Links” on the school website.
☐ Request letters of recommendation from teachers in person first the in Naviance ( 2 weeks in advance).
☐ Register for the SAT/ACT if still have not reached your goal score, and keep studying. In Florida scores matter!
☐ Athletes seeking scholarships/offers: register with NCAA and NAIA and request school update your transcripts.
October – November
☐ Request and pay for transcripts through “Quick Links” on the school website no later than October 10th
☐ Submit FAFSA (Financial Aid) and CSS Profile (opens October 1st) and include the names of colleges you applied to.
☐ Update Raise.me and submit with your Early Action application to FIU and Barry if interested. Monitor deadlines.
☐ Apply for scholarships- they are stackable. Goal is to apply to 5 per week or more $$$$
☐ Attend all school workshops (Application Help during lunches and seminar, FAFSA, Scholarships, Bright Futures, etc.).
☐ Complete Bright Futures application on the FFAA website and provide Mrs. Hernandez with your social security on Fall Survey.
☐ Attend the Carroll College & Career Fair in October to meet colleges and Trade schools from all over- parents are welcomed.
☐ Submit Early Action/Early Decision applications (Starting October 15th through Nov. 1

to also earn Merit Scholarships
☐ Complete self-reporting profiles (SSAR & SPARK for UCF) if required…. Example FSU, US, USF etc.
☐ Monitor your emails and college portals daily as your applications are in process- this is critical!
December – January
☐ Submit all Service Hours in X2Vol before winter break, Dec. 15th so hours to show on your mid-year transcripts.
☐ Send test scores (SAT/ACT) if required to the colleges you applied to ( this is required for consideration)
☐ Apply for Honors Colleges like FIU, MDC or others you are interested in– check deadlines!
☐ Complete any remaining Regular Decision applications and follow all steps.
☐ Apply for more scholarships and confirm FAFSA is complete and status.
☐ Mid-year transcripts go out around Jan. 10-15th after returning from break.
☐ Finalize your college choices – National decision day is May 1st
- don’t wait for last-minute, dorms fill up fast!
☐ Stay focused – don’t let senioritis win!
February – April
☐ Review college acceptance letters and compare financial aid offers to see your best option and finalize your selection
☐ Submit your Decision Post questionnaire (link in bio) to be featured on Carroll Decision page on IG!
☐ Apply for college housing if applicable (especially if leaving Miami).
☐ Complete any orientation or enrollment checklist for your chosen college. If leaving Miami apply for housing early.
☐ Students going to a Trade school, Military or Community College (MDC) finalize applications and tasks to be ready for transition.
☐ Complete Senior Exit Survey in Naviance by April 15th include where you committed to- required to be cleared for graduation!
☐ Initial clearance to receive Cap and Gown: students must be cleared from any “Holds” with attendance and business office,
cafeteria balance paid, hours met, passing all classes and no pending credits owed or detentions unserved. - NO EXCEPTION!!
May – June
☐ Officially commit to your college by May 1st (National Decision Day).
☐ Order your final transcripts from your Dual Enrollments classes at the end of May from (STU & MDC) sent to your college
☐ Update all your platforms with your personal email as the school email may be deleted in June and you will lose access.
☐ Attend Graduation in May – celebrate your success!
☐ Pick up your diploma early June – YOU DID IT!
