GUIDANCE TEAM
At Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School, the Guidance Department is committed to supporting the growth and success of the whole student through a caring, Christ centered, and holistic approach. Our team works closely with students and families to provide the academic guidance, spiritual foundation, and personal support needed for each student to thrive throughout their high school journey. Beginning in freshman year, every student is assigned a dedicated school counselor who remains with them through all four years of high school, building meaningful relationships and providing consistent guidance along the way. In addition, students are paired with a college advisor beginning in junior year to assist with college planning, career exploration, financial aid, scholarships, and the application process.

The Guidance Department supports students through every stage of their high school experience, from the transition into ninth grade to preparing for college and life beyond graduation. Counselors provide academic advising, monitor student progress, and assist with personal, social, emotional, and behavioral needs to help ensure each student’s overall wellbeing and success.

Our department also includes an Accommodations Support Specialist who works closely with students eligible for academic accommodations in both classroom and standardized testing settings. Through collaboration with parents, teachers, and outside professionals, individualized accommodation plans are reviewed and updated annually to best support each student’s learning needs. The specialist also provides ongoing guidance and support to faculty members throughout the school year and assists students and families as they transition to post-secondary education.
Students may request appointments with their counselor by sending them an email and the Counselor will send you the Smartpass once approved.
With select counselors such as the College Advisor/12th Grade Counselor, please use her interactive calendar where you can select the time and date that best works for you. Students are encouraging to schedule meetings with counselors during their electives as permitted by their teacher ensuring not to miss any tests, quizzes or important instructional time unless it is an urgent matter in which case they will be seen immediately.
