College & career Counseling

Welcome to College & Career Counseling at Archbishop Coleman F. Carroll High School.

At Carroll, we believe college and career preparation is a journey that begins the moment students walk onto our campus. As a Christ-centered, college preparatory school, our goal is to help students and families navigate life after high school with confidence, faith, and purpose.

Students are supported throughout high school by a dedicated College Advisor and 12th Grade Counselor who works closely with students and parents through individualized meetings, workshops, classroom presentations, and ongoing communication. Whether students plan to attend college, pursue a trade, join the military, enter the workforce, or explore a vocation, our program is designed to guide and support every path.

Through our College & Career Counseling Program, students receive access to valuable tools and opportunities including:

⭐ Naviance college and career planning platform

⭐ Individual student and parent meetings

⭐ Grade-level college readiness checklists

⭐ College application and Common App guidance workshops

⭐ FAFSA and financial aid workshops

⭐ Florida Bright Futures and scholarship guidance

⭐ College readiness workshops throughout the year

⭐ Annual College & Career Fair

⭐ College and trade school visits on campus

⭐ Access to Scholarship database and resources updated periodically

⭐ Summer enrichment program and career exploration support

Beginning in 9th grade, students are encouraged to explore their interests, build leadership skills, strengthen academics, and prepare for their future one step at a time. Students receive access to Naviance, a post-secondary exploration and resource platform where they can receive information about upcoming events and colleges, local and national scholarship opportunities, take personality and strength assessments, build their resume and brag sheets, order letters of recommendation, match with colleges that provide their career interests, and other resources for college and career information. Current students can access their account using this link: https://student.naviance.com/archbishopchs.

A Carroll College Handbook has also been created and updated annually to aide all students in their college journey and to educate parents as well. The handbook is linked below and includes important terminology, links, step by step guidelines, and much more to answer any questions you might have.  At Carroll, college and career counseling is about more than applications and deadlines. It is about helping students grow into faith-filled young adults who are prepared to create their legacy and confidently embrace the future God has planned for them.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
