 FALL (August – November)
☐ New year- new goals! Start strong academically, spiritually and personally
☐ Review your grade summary/unofficial transcript to make sure you are on track- Keep grades up!
☐ September: attend the Parent & Student College Readiness Meeting 
☐ Attend the College Fair in October with your class (parents welcome)
☐ Review your 9th grade Pre-ACT and Pre-SAT scores and identify areas for improvement
☐ Take the PSAT in October ( see calendar for exact date) and aim for a strong score
 • Important for Honors, AP, and Dual Enrollment opportunities as well as Recognitions/Scholarships
☐ Update your Naviance resume, goals, and activities as well as Brag sheet
☐ Continue logging achievements and grades in Raise.Me / explore other scholarship opportunities early
☐ Stay involved in clubs, sports, leadership, and extracurricular activities
☐ Continue logging Christian Service Hours in X2Vol toward the 100+ hour graduation requirement
 WINTER (December – February)
☐ Review 1
st Semester grades and set improvement goals for 2
nd Semester
☐ Meet with your counselor if Credit Recovery is needed and make sure it is completed prior to end of year.
☐ Re-take Career and personality assessments in Naviance ** Example: “Do What You Are”
☐ Continue to explore colleges, careers, trade schools, military and majors through BigFuture and Naviance
☐ Meet with your counselor for an academic check in and discuss Honors classes, AP or DE readiness
☐ Monitor your digital footprint (what you post online stays online forever)
☐ College visits: Attend our in-school college visits during lunch or after school when available to explore & ask questions
 SPRING (March – May)
☐ Review your academic progress, involvement, and personal goals
☐ Continue preparing/studying for the Pre-ACT given mid-March
 • Strong scores can help qualify you for advanced courses like Dual Enrollment/college classes and academic recognition
☐ Finalize junior year course selections with a focus on rigor and college readiness ** Consider advanced science courses if 
interested in STEM pathways
☐ Research summer programs, internships, volunteer opportunities, and summer jobs early. Some more competitive programs 
close out as early as April (Apply early)
☐ Update Naviance, RaiseMe, and X2Vol with new accomplishments and service hours
☐ Begin exploring scholarships through BigFuture, Naviance, and the Carroll Bulletin
 
 SUMMER (June – August) 
☐ Stay productive during the summer- these experiences will help build your resume for college applications later on so consider a 
• internships • camps • volunteering • helping family/ siblings • summer jobs 
☐ Participate in Carroll summer enrichment programs and build skills
☐ Complete all summer reading and assignments and read at least one challenging book for personal growth
☐ If taking Dual Enrolment classes at MDC, make sure to email final unofficial transcripts to your Counselor so we can add your new 
credits on your Carroll transcript.
☐ Visit a college campus or take a virtual college tour
☐ Log summer activities and achievements in RaiseMe and Naviance so you don’t forge
